I've had this saw about a year now, and am very pleased with it. Cutting mostly softwoods; pine, which the saw handles with ease. The fence rule (mounted tape measurer)works like a charm - - and is accurate down to 1/64 of an inch. No more measuring the fence to blade distance with my tape and guessing how much more to add for the kerf, as with my old Craftsman table saw. The Rigid fence to kerf measurement is spot-on! I really appreciate the collapsability of the unit, as my garage has a lot of tools and f

This is a good portable saw. But the newer R4510 is better. You can buy at some HD stores. Both are about $100 less at HD.

I bought this Item and thought it would be a good saw. Sawed very little popular and red oak.( All 1" stuff) motor burnt up after about a total of 15 hours of non continues use. To buy a motor is about the same as buying a new saw.

This is an excellent saw and probably the best in its category but I outgrew it quickly and had to upgrade. Basically, if you need a table saw with mobility, this is the one to get. As for me, I started out doing remodelling projects on the house and it was great to be able to easily move it out in the yard to do all my cuts. however, i'm now getting into woodworking and although it can probably do the job, I find i need a bit more heft and size. If you are like my situation, opt for a contractor saw from the start. I will just cost a little more but you will be set. 3 stars due to the high cost. for just a little more money you can have a much better saw & much better fence. the only advantage to this saw is the small size and mobility.

Very disappointed in this saw. While it was working, it was great. Plenty of power and the angle adjustment and raise/lower features worked well, etc. However, I think a $500 tool needs to last at least 5 years, longer when used as infrequently as I now use mine. I am not a tradesmen, but rather do some home remodeling (just on my own home) and woodworking projects such as building a desk and a white oak table for my Big Green Egg. For the amount I use it, this saw should've lasted me a decade. I am done wi

I initially bought a Rigid Portable Table Saw and when it was time to move it to a job site I was frustrated by my inability to load into my van without a helper. I returned it Home Depot, unused, and purchased a 10" Dewalt portable for about the same price. The mitre guide was useless since it did not have positive stops at the usual locations. I returned this too for a full refund. I then bought the Bosch with the gravity rise stand and I could not be happier. I can load it myself into my van. It is p

All things considered, this is a good portable saw for the price. I'd have gone with a larger saw if I had room for one, but I have to be able to tuck my tools off to the side in order to put my vehicles in the garage.
Rather than go into detail about what it does well, I'll just list my complaints:
- The included blade is of mediocre quality (though that's to be expected from stock blades these days)
- The texture of the table top looks like bead blasted metal, but from what I can tell it's some sort of spray coating. It's rubbing off in some areas to reveal a smoother surface underneath. Honestly, I'm not sure why they didn't just leave it that way.
- The included miter gauge fits sloppily in the slot. I had to purchase an aftermarket unit with adjustable width in order to make decent crosscuts.
- There is no way to lock the blade height, so it may change gradually because of vibrations or accidental nudging as you work. This can be a problem if you are doing partial cuts (such as dadoes for box joints) and need a constant depth.
- A considerable amount of dust goes to the floor under and behind the saw, even when hooked to a shop vac.
- The blade tilt adjustment is awkward. It has positive stops at 45 and 90 degrees, but anything else is best done with a good angle gauge and a helper to hold it in place while you use both hands to set the blade angle.
- The storage for the included push stick is on the back of the saw, instead of one of the sides where it would be easily in reach.

I am a licensed contractor with over fifteen years in the trades and I am sad to report that this tool is the biggest lemon i have ever purchased in that time! Firstly, this particular saw gave up the ghost( that would be a failed armature) after only 14 months and less than 50 hours of use. How convenient for me that the magic 12 months of warranty were behind me when this saw died 2 months later. As a professional I am compelled to maintain my tools and keep them in good working order for obvious reasons.
All my equipment is cleaned after use; vaccummed or blown out with compressed air so a build up of sawdust etc. cannot be attributed to the aforementioned failure in the motor. My other complaints about this saw even before its meltdown are its lack of practical ergonomics and quite possible the worst ripfence system ever devised!
Older models of this saw used to include a collapsible stand that broke down flat like a card table and was great for jobsite portability. The gravity stand, while it may look like a cadillac on the sales floor is a cumbersome beast that requires attachment of the saw to the stand with four bolts and makes moving the saw independent of the stand impossible without their removal. Every time!
While I acknowledge that hardly any ripfence is 100% true even from the factory, the fence on this saw was abysmally out of square from the get-go. The fence clicks on and off the saw table and is locked into position with a tension knob at the rear of its length. Even wrenched down there is so much lateral play in the thing that the operator is forced to measure the fence to the blade at two points and repeat the process with any change in the dimension of stock desired.
Bosch tools are like too many other products, made exclusively in Taiwan and now riding on the cache of an old name. There is simply no excuse for such lousy craftsmanship on a tool that is price pointed where this one is! Save yourself the indignity of being the next poor shlub to write a long winded rant and buy a friggin Delta!

I needed a table saw to make some replacement kitchen drawer fronts. I didn't really want to spend a lot of money buying a saw to use only a few times - so I figured I would buy one of the many cheap $120 table saws that are available.
Unfortunately, every one of those saws was pure junk - cheap, wavy plastic tables, insufficient (and frequently broken) motor mounts, inaccurate, loose and useless measuring devices. I couldn't bring myself to waste $120 on one of those pieces of garbage.

In addition to many other reviews, here is an important one, you cannot use a dado blade with this saw. Check Dewalt's website. For me it's a disappointment!

FOR THOSE IN THE KNOW.A simple look at this saw . Just pick it up,turn around. Will tell all you need to know. BUT for those that are unable to get a grip on one , TRUST me, walk away....Unless you have a need for further abuse. The Oriental masters have out-done themselves on this one, even low-grade plastic is spared . I always buy the best I can,and cry just once. But maybe thats just me .I depend on my tools to earn a living .If you don't require that level, I do understand . Bring over drinks to a neighbor , grease 'em up. For a cut , or two. Yes it looks sharp , so maybe if you don't really plan on using it , ever , spend the cash .Be the envy of all those acquaintance you call "friends ". All I have to say "you get what you deserve "

I'm a homeowner who, for years, has relied on a very small 7 ¼ inch table saw that was hard-pressed to cut a straight line. So at long last, my wife suggested that I purchase a new professional table saw as a birthday gift. I own several other Bosch power tools and am delighted with them all. The new table saw measures up to my expectations of a high quality power tool. It is expensive, but worth the price!Bosch 4100DG-09 10-Inch Worksite Table Saw with Gravity-Rise Stand and Digital Rip Fence

With riving knife it is quite a safe saw. The fence is almost impossible to adjust. When the outer feed of the fence is 1/16th towards the blade from the in-feed, you are asking for trouble (kick back). Riving knife saved me from those kickbacks due to fence problems. Without a parallel fence, the best of the saws becomes useless.
Portability is good and power is sufficient for most of your work.

My main review of this saw is on the 4100-09 saw page rather than here. I only give this one 2 stars because you can save $100 on the price of this saw by buying the 4100-09 and the Digital Scale separately on Amazon.
Don't know why Amazon is charging $802 for this unit as it sits... but the Digital unit for the 4100-09 is only $102 on top of the $599 price of the 4100 and it is EXACTLY the same unit that is on the 4100DG-09 shown here for over $800. That's a savings of nearly $100.00.
It takes about 10-minutes to install the Digital unit on the 4100-09, turning it into this unit. Easy!
Don't waste your money. Go with separates and save!
UPDATE: Amazon has now changed their pricing structure on this item and the review above no longer is valid. Good on 'ya Amazon for valuing this item as it SHOULD be! Cheers!

This saw has plenty of power and as far as I'm concerned the best table on any job site table saw that extends out to make cutting sheet goods a breeze compared to other saws. The fence is good but not great as others have noted. The fence has several adjustments to square to the blade and increase clamping power. When ripping sheet goods it doesn't take much to bump out of alignment, but for cutting normal material it works great. I fixed the problem of cutting large material with a set of irwin quick-gr

I owned this saw about a year now and it continues to run well. I had to take a while to get the blade in alignment but once that was set it never came out of alignment. I like the fence. It was a big improvement over the one on my 100 dollar delta saw. It stays aligned. On the delta I would have to nudge it one way or the other and setting up any cut took longer. My only beef with this is that the miter gauge t-slot is not the standard 3/4, 3/8. So when I decided to build a sled and thought it would

I purchased the Jet 708315BTC JBTS-10BT-3 10" saw after reading several reviews provided by Amazon. There were concerns expressed about the quality of the fence and the miter gauge, but I felt these could be reckoned with. I was not at home when the saw arrived, so I had no opportunity to inspect the package nor its contents. The shipping box was severely damaged and was an indication of damaged goods inside. The outfeed rest was bent beyond repair and the back plastic panel on the saw was fractured. Amazon generously offered a refund sufficient to replace these parts as an option to returning the saw to them. The saw's operation is another thing. The fence binds against the work and kickback has been a real problem. I cannot seem to get the fence properly aligned. The gap between the saw table and the blade access opening is too large and small pieces easily fall into the crack. The saw table appears to be too thin to accommodate a shop made zero clearance replacement. The miter gauge is not at all accurate and I will use it only for rough cutting. The saw also vibrates excessively and the blade has obvious significant runout. The blade was very inferior and I also replaced it. I purchased this saw to do some second floor work in some new construction I am doing and thought it would be easy to carry upstairs, which it is. However, the thing frightens me. I have two larger tablesaws (a contractor's saw and a large cabinet saw) and neither of these gives me the willies like this small Jet does. If I were in the market for a small tablesaw again I'd try a few out before purchasing one and I don't believe I'd purchase this particular Jet model unless there was absolutely no other option.

I respect what the other reviewers have said (hey, if you've had a bad experience, you've had a bad experience) but mine has been nothing but positive. I purchased a refurbished saw and it's cut perfectly true from out of the box. All I did was mount it on a stand, install the fence and off to the races. I love the smooth start feature, the saw was set for true 90 degree calibration on the blade and the fence is right on the mark, perfectly parallel. For more specifics:

The rip fence on the first saw I received would not align parallel to the blade. Out of the box, the rip fence was more than 1/2" out of alignment (manual indicates the fence should be pre-aligned at the factory). Furthermore, I was not able to align the fence following the instructions in the manual - fence was still ~1/8 inch out of alignment with blade.
Amazon customer service was fantastic. The CSR issued me an RMA for the defective saw, and had a replacement saw over nighted to me.
The replacement saw apparently is the latest Dewalt revision. It has a couple of design fixes:
1) The throat plate is redesigned with a lock-down mechanism. Apparently, the old non-locking plate is dangerous, because the manual issues a warning to always have the plate locked when the saw is in use.
2) The blade guard, anti-kickback mechanism, and splitter have been totally redesigned. The splitter now has two positions: one for through cuts, and a second for non-through cuts. The old splitter only had one position, and required adjustment using shims - no shims with the new splitter!
The new saw set up was as advertised. No major adjustments needed out of the box. The fence is perfectly parallel with the blade.
The new saw also comes with a push stick.
Here is a link to the Dewalt web page with a picture of the new saw - note the change in blade guard.
[...]
Summary observations:
Questionable manufacturing quality: The fence and rack-and-pinion mechanism on the first saw were not even close to being adjusted correctly. The box showed no signs of damage to indicate the problem was due to a shipping problem.
Questionable engineering quality: The throat plate and the blade guard/splitter assembly re-design appear to address defects with the original saw design.
Questionable documentation quality: The original documentation indicated the saw comes with a push stick. In fact, it only came with instructions on how to make a push stick. The new saw comes with a push stick.
I've not used the saw yet, so I have no feedback on operational quality.
However, if you're thinking about buying this saw, make sure you get the new saw with the design fixes mentioned above (look for new blade guard style and included push stick).

I had purchased a small contractor DeWalt 745 saw. It was a great little saw. But I wanted the larger 744x unit. I need a bigger fence area. Got the first 744 and it had a problem with the rack and pinion fence. It was so tight It wouldn' move. Tried adjusting it via the owners manual to no avail. Amazon shipped another unit and to my dismay it also had a rack and pinion AND fence problem. The fence would hang on the right miter slot. And the pinion gears jumped off the track when trying to adjust the fence. I'm very dissappointed in the factory setup on these saws. Poor quality control. I believe once I get beyond these poor factory quality issues I might have a good saw. But frankly, I would think twice before purchasing a DeWalt saw agaain . . .
